Rated 5 out of 5 by Elisheva from Unbelievably luxurious... This review pertains to Bedford pillowcases only and not the associated bedding. The Bedford pillowcases have been discontinued and I will be hard-pressed to find cases of a comparable quality. The satiny 800-TC textile is off the charts and the very embodiment of luxury. I would have paid ***any price*** for the same quality bedding, but Ralph Lauren used a skimpier thread count for those items. Only the Bedford pillowcases exuded luxury. Now that the Bedford line has been discontinued, I will purchase old stock anywhere I can find them. Pros: High thread count, heft, satiny, craftsmanship, and quality. Cons: Discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KCnLex from Fabulous sheets, thick and soft, also longlasting! These sheets are heavier than normal which is great all year from my point of view. They are also very soft. I am not sure why sateen sheets regardless of thread count have this treatment that makes them feel like silk until the first time you wash them! Some are so different after the first wash that you would swear they are not the sheets you just put in the washing machine. Ralph Lauren's have that treatment also so don't expect them to feel like they do when first removed. They will also wrinkle a fair amount if not promptly removed from the dryer. I found that the silky feel can be helped by ironing the sheets, but really who wants to iron huge sheets. I recommend that you use these large softball shaped wool balls in the dryer as they will help with both softness and preventing the sheets from tying themselves into a knot. If you put some essential oil, such as lavender onto the balls it will also lightly fragrance your sheets. The colors are really deep. The navy is a true dark blue and not royal blue. The white is a stark white without any cream or yellow undertones. Although it means you have two different loads of wash when pairing dark and light, it does make for a very dramatic look. I have had Ralph Lauren sheets for years. If you buy the good ones, they will keep looking great for a very long time and will only get softer with use. I am just replacing sheets purchased in 2005 with these Bedford sateen sheets. Sixteen years is a very good life time of use. I had two sets so there was not always the same set on the bed and in used, but still this is longer than any other sheets you can buy. I only have Ralph Lauren sheets in every bedroom in my home, they are just that good. I could use my sheets still longer but the elastic on the fitted is just starting to fail and the print is just starting to fade. Again they are sixteen years old and I expect these sheets will last as long if not longer. In comparing these high thread count Sateen sheets to my ones purchased in 2005, you do find a very different weight and hand feel to the sheets. My 2005 sheets were 400 thread count. The depth of color was not nearly as intense on those sheets. They were also quite a bit lighter in weight. With these sheets I expect that in summer I will need no other covering where as with my others I still used a very light weight blanket over them in all but the hottest nights. The lighter weight sheets were a bit softer initially but all my Ralph Lauren sheets have gotten softer with use and I expect that to be the case here. I like the hand feel of these Bedford sateen sheets much more even though at this point they are not quite as soft. All of the Ralph Lauren sheets seem to provide ample room in fitting a large pillow top mattress. As mattress sizes have increased in height, sheets have not all increased in depth to fit. While you can purchase extra deep fitted sheets from RL, only a few mattresses would need them. Make sure you measure the height before you order to insure the best fit. There is nothing worse than your sheet coming off at the corner in the middle of the night. Plus it is a pain to try to get them on the bed. You won't have that issue with these sheets in the vast majority of cases. Even with a feather topper on a pillowtop mattress, my regular RL sheets fit fine. I have seen a few mattresses that would need even more depth and I appreciate that RL provides that extra option when purchasing the fitted sheets.
