I sized up from a 46 to a 48, and it fit perfectly. The sleeves are vented for functioning buttons, which I added with no problem. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the buttons are horn. Traditional tuxedo buttons should be satin or grosgrain (to match the facing on the lapel - in this case, satin). The tailor changed the buttons, to satin ones, for me at no cost - so it was never a big issue. And it’s a minor complaint because I know the horn buttons are likely RL’s “take on a classic,” and that black tie rules are loosening. But I’m a traditionalist when it comes to black tie, and I like the satin buttons. Bottom line, at this price I would’ve been hard-pressed to find a more suitable tuxedo. It just doesn’t look like a $1,400.00 tuxedo; it looks more expensive. If you’re a traditionalist like me, don’t forget the cummerbund, studs, and (traditionalist or no) a BLACK bow tie. The online shopping experience was fantastic. However, the Tux jacket runs about a size larger than advertised. The front panels on my jacket were too large, meaning the panels were too wide for my chest size. This is something that cannot be fixed by alterations. This size difference carried over to the back of the shoulders also. I exchanged for one size smaller, but have not received it and so cannot say how one size smaller may or may not fit. The first order arrived as just the jacket thrown in a box without the pants, no hanger, and no suit bag, which I have received from Ralph Lauren before. Contacted customer service to be told to return the suit jacket and they would fulfill the order in total at a later time. Time I was given was two months from the present time. Tried to cancel, but told me the order was already placed and I would have to return it when it arrived, although the charge was already deducted from my credit card. Received second order within a couple days and not months. Entire suit arrived this time with hanger and suit bag, but everything still thrown in a box and the hanger was a junior size with no pants bar, so couldn't be used to actually hang the suit. The suit itself had threads hanging off it on the collar and plastic buttons that felt cheap with one suit button dangling. Given that it was $1,500 and I could have a nearly custom tuxedo made in the same price range, I have also returned this product and will never order from Ralph Lauren online again as I am still awaiting a refund to my card.Date published: 2023-02-15
