The harware,strap and handles were wrapped and there was plenty of paper cushion in each compartment to hold it's shape. The embossed leather was very realistic. The gold colored metal areas shone brightly. The lighter interior was supple. So nice because at night, one can actually see items in the bag. This is difficult with a black interior lining. I'm very pleased with this bag. And the bonus, of course was that at 40 percent off, it was less expensive than the sale price at department stores. I hope the white one will be available again. The leather is not soft so the bag remains open on the top- it doesnt fold in. The strap is not soft and so its hard to the touch- which isnt great and the bag does look a bit bulky. Given all this and the fact that there isnt a main zipper to protect the contents of the entire bag i would say it isnt worth the hefty pricetag.
