I have been searching for a proper women’s rugby shirt for years, and this is exactly the one I had hoped to find. Men’s rugby shirts have never worked on me: they are typically too roomy across the chest and underarms, too long in the sleeves, yet oddly narrow at the hem. This one retains the authentic, slightly oversized character of a traditional rugby shirt while being thoughtfully cut for a woman’s body. The fit is generous enough to layer over another shirt, with comfortably roomy sleeves and chest, but it still has shape—my figure doesn’t disappear beneath it. The sleeve length is just right, and the wider opening at the hem allows it to fall beautifully over jeans or trousers without bunching. The colors are rich and saturated, and the cotton is wonderfully substantial, just as a true rugby shirt should be. It is the perfect complement to my Ivy League style: tweeds, worn and patched jeans, and a baseball cap. I ordered an XS, and it has the naturally relaxed, slightly oversized fit I wanted.
