Both times to try to get stretch the shoe while wearing. I bought my regular size UK 6 and the shoes fit. However, the problem lay in the toe box. It felt like there was a bar running straight across my toes. My toes were actually numb after wearing these shoes to walk around Covent Garden. After that second wear two of my toe nails on each foot (middle and pinkie) turned black and it’s taken 4 months for them to fall off and grow back properly. These have been the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Massive shame. I have regular width feet, prone to swelling in the heat, and the shoes fit me comfortably and I noticed that the leather was soft, not stiff. I took my normal size and noticed they were very slightly big but not enough for me to downsize as the smaller size would definitely be too tight.
