Adventure Prep

This Fall, prep style breaks free of the campus and the city and heads for the North Woods, land of rugged individualism. Here’s your five-point field guide to looking great in a new frontier.

Rugby shirts with camo-print pants? It’s the new prep.

This season, Polo is rooted in heritage yet inspired by the performance-driven sensibilities of outdoor wear. A puffer jacket that might be pulled out once you reach the summit is tied around the waist with the same panache as a candy-colored cashmere sweater; rugby shirts and knits that can be layered on or off in accordance with the sun are stacked above base-layer T-shirts; and camo print takes its place beside herringbone and Glen plaid as a key pattern.
